try a shampoo made for dry skin, such as nuetrogena or selson blu or something
Itchy ans flaky skin around hair line...ideas or remedies?
Use Nizoral (an over-the-counter anti-dandruff shampoo) and leave it in your hair for 3 minutes. It's pretty potent. It'll dry out your hair, so you can use a conditioner if you want afterward, but my hair is naturally oily, so if I shower the night before my hair is usually "moisturized" by the next morning with my head's own natural oils.
That sounded gross... didn't it?

I have found two wonderful products. I have severe intermittent
psoriasis. Sometimes it gets really bad, ugly, my forehead will
be really red, comes on suddenly, in the winter. One is a shampoo,
I cannot use it every day because it makes my hair so soft,
but it works wonders when my psoriasis is flaring up, it is T/Gel
Daily Control Dandruff Shampoo by Neutrogena. I was using the old
T/Gel which had a lot of coal tar in it It worked really well, but smelled
bad, and supposedly using coal tar a lot is not good. This new
one works well. If I have a bad flare up, I use it more often.
The other is something called Neutrogena Tgel overnight dandruff treatment. It is a clear lotion. I don't use it for dandruff. I put it on my
forehead, and behind my ears when it flares up, and it makes
it peel faster, which is what it is going to do any way, it simply
gets it over with a lot faster. I simply put it on, leave it over night\
and rinse it off. Works better than anything I tried. Works fast.
I am not prescribing, just stating my experience. I am vain, and
don't like to go around flaking and peeling a lot.
