I need ideas for haircuts for thick, wavy hair?

my hair is growing out again and its at the middle of my back, its summer and my hair is really thick and wavy so it tends to get in the way.

Does anyone have any ideas for a haircut which is ideal for thick, wavy hair? by the way my hair is brown. i dont mind getting a short hair cut; would a wuite hairstyle work though because of the waves in my hair?- i'm planning on dying my hair black too. i really need help.

I used to have the exact same problem.

What I did:

Part your hair to the side. Go to the salon and tell them you usually part your hair that way (if they ask) and get sidebangs and layers. By getting layers, you can choose what length you want the layers, so it won't be too short or long for you. Make sure they blend your sidebangs in.

How about getting a 1 1/2 or 2 inch cut, straighten it and highlight it dirty blonde?
