Get your hair wet with regular water first and add cond, then put on cap. Wet hair can only absorb so much other moisture- not much. Try Redken Hair Cleansing Creme one time a week followed by a deep conditioner. Best of luck.

I put normal conditioner in my hair and then wash it as normal after swimming!

Thats what acid does, because its chlorine.

After you've gone swimming, use a good conditioner on your hair. Leave it for about 5, 10 minutes, brush it through too.

Good Luck

Best Wishes

I would forget about the cap. Let your hair get wet and when you have finished swimming, use a good shampoo and conditioner to clean out any chemicals. I always do it that way and have no problems with my hair.

I have been told that if you wet your hair with cool water before it closes up the cuticles and doesn't allow the chlorine to absorb...good luck...

Perhaps you are using the wrong conditioner.

I swim 3 days a week with no cap and, of course, no leave in conditioner. I have short permed hair.

I use a gentle, non-perfumed; shampoo. I rinse my hair thoroughly with plain water and then I rinse again with a mild vinegar solution ( about 1/4 cup vinegar to 2 quarts water) and I use a dab of Alberto vo-5 before combing gently.

Hope this helps!
